Playmobil Love
I'm in my bedroom, folding laundry, listening to my kids' conversation in my daughter's room. They are playing with Playmobil people, have houses, cars and a whole landscape set up. I have to admit that I didn't hear every detail because I was biting into a pillow with another pillow on top of my head, to keep from laughing. But it went something like this...
PJ: If we keep them together like this, they are just gonna have sex and end up having more kids.
M: You already have 10 kids, don't you think that's enough? I only have 4, that's not so bad.
PJ: I guess, should we keep the men and the women apart?
M: They are the same family, not sure what to do.
PJ: If we don't do anything they'll just keep having sex!
M: That's just what happens in real life, what are you gonna do?
PJ: We could just bring the guy to the hospital to get fixed.
M: Why does the guy have to be fixed?
PJ: That's just how it's done.
M: Are you sure?
PJ: That's what we'll do, I just don't have any more seats left in my bus.
I haven't checked on Playmobil man yet, hope he's not too swollen after the vasectomy.
The dark side
I came across a picture today on Facebook (which was originally posted and I assume created by a guy named Thorsten Wingenfelder), one of my friends had shared it.
I may have laughed a little too hard about it, after all it’s the pope. I do have respect for him, just like for any other person, no more and no less. I was raised catholic and abandoned that as soon as my family could not force...
Freak
Have I ever told you that I’m a total freak?
My husband, kids and I were walking downtown Merritt yesterday and stopped at the traffic light, waiting for the pedestrian signal to change.
A fly landed on Marius’ jacket and he thought it was a bee and started freaking out. Pauline told him it was just a fly, he calmed down and she grabbed the fly with one of her ninja-like moves (at...
So what should we do today? Let’s have a mother and daughter day. Wanna...

Blog Bash Post - I do
Ado and Alison are having a party and even though every single week after YeahWrite or Monday Listicles I tell myself that I’m gonna take a break for a week I find another excuse why I just HAVE to link up again. I mean come on, it’s a blogoversary times two!

A teacher, mentor and friend
My son has always been a little on the shy and anxious side. It may actually be more than a little…
When we decided to move to Canada I was worried. Not just because we left behind a relatively comfortable life and good jobs. Not just because we had no idea if my husband would actually like his new job and what our life here would be like.
My biggest worry was how the kids - who both did...

Pass me a tissue cuz I have a nasal issue. A man named Rob likes to say Bob. Cats, dogs and ostriches these make a rubber duck, yesterday I got stuck in a bus hole black dog. My body emerged from the fog. Big blue boots shouting “hoots!”. Curtains, windows, 57, 7-11. When you go to New York bring…
Yup, that’s my boy.

10 reasons why being a kid is awesome
When I think about why being a kid is awesome I think about my own childhood. I really believe that those were simpler times, and I am a sucker for simple. Not that I don’t enjoy the internet, my BlackBerry and my imaginary ipad…. but all this technology, while connecting us to people we would have never connected to without, still puts a lot of pressure on us - well, maybe it’s...
10 things women
Holy crap, there are so many possibilities to write about “10 things women” - I am having a hard time choosing!
I could write about my 10 favourite women on Twitter, 10 women on TV/in a movie, 10 jobs that only a woman can do, 10 things my teenage daughter must know before having sex, 10 mistakes I made that I wish I hadn’t (that might be a tough one since I usually don’t...
I am not a trooper
My son is in his third year of boy scouts. I like the boy scouts, because I don’t ever have to go there. It’s my husband’s job to take him to the meetings, be a volunteer for the fundraisers and go to germ-ridden, mosquito-infested life-lesson-teaching camp-outs.
So today was the Scout Truck race. A couple of weeks ago husband/son began to build the Scout Truck, then they...

– M.A., 10 yrs. old and a comic genius in my eyes. He comes up with these jokes while trying to fall asleep at night, because “Mom, don’t you know it takes the average 10 year-old 20 min. to fall asleep?”.
10 things I am bad at - as in totally suck
I have been following Stasha @NorthWestMommy for a little while and I’m just fascinated with her Monday Listicles.
I love lists of any kind and just a few days ago I outdid myself - I made a list of all the lists I want to make. So pretty soon there will be spring-cleaning and basement-organizing lists as well as a yard-to-do-list.[[MORE]]

Best Days
thought it would be
the best day of my life
when you would start
making your own lunch for school
now all that’s left for me
are the crumbs you left behind
thought it would be
the best day of my life
when you would start
taking baths by yourself
now all that’s left for me
is to watch the foam as it fades away
thought it would be
the best day of my life
